Eredar Twins loot:
Mantle of the Golden Forest,
Amulet of Unfettered Magics,
Grip of Mannoroth,
Boots of the Forgotten Vanquisher,
Sin'dorei Pendant of Salvation (rot)
Great job all! Very tough encounter to get down. We spent quite a few hours getting owned by these two hoes, which makes the win that much more satisfying. Fantastic PVP neck Blizzard, we sure needed it in Sunwell. The stamina on the necks is terrible too, I have no fucking idea what they are for other than to use for my offset healing gear. It might be ok for pve with the socket, but seriously resilience? Maybe switch that neck to a new PVP trinket... Replace the one, you know, that we have to use in 2-3 high end raids /boggle. Put +healing, +spell dam, +AP, and +DEF along with the fear/movement impairing break clicker. And fire your item dev while you're at it.
Here's to hoping M'uru isn't released next tuesday so we can work on a reverse kill ^_^
Edit 5/4/2008: Reverse kill completed also.

Brutallus loots:
Leggings of Calamity,
Belt of the Forgotten Conqueror,
Belt of the Forgotten Vanquisher x2
About as closely tuned fight I've seen as far as a DPS check goes. Six minutes of balls to the wall, butt-cheek clinching action. We had a 1% wipe right before the win, both of which hit the enrage. If you watch some videos and see him die right after enrage, that's exactly like it happens unless you are packing some heavy dps on first kill. Should become quite a bit easier fight after gearing up in Sunwell, but the first time there it's perfect. Folks just killing Rage Winterchill have 4+ months ahead of T6 farming unless they nerf Brut's hitpoints (as if Blizzard won't).

Patch 2.4 loots:
Trade in Badge of Justice for your choice of any item in game.
As I was road raging on my way to work at 6am I decided you, Johnny McTerrible, deserved a good morning celebratory Patch 2.4 release day update. That's right kids all of those long hard months of Tier 4 and 5 have paid off. If you're level 70 and can manage to find the zone in of Hyjal Summit and Black Temple you can come pretend to be worth a damn. Beware Doomwalker outside of Black Temple, he is bound to pick off half of your raid members on the way in.
After seeing the initial patch notes for 2.4 we nearly ceased to exist as a guild in World of Warcraft. Officers took about a week off of WoW, taking the extra time to play other games and shine our pistols. After much searching for alternatives we realised there really wasn't much other options for now, which is most unfortunate since WoW is a casual friendly piece of dog shit game. So we stuck to our 2-3 day raid schedule, never really pushing the limits of speed clearing Hyjal or BT because.. well there was nothing else to look forward to the rest of the week. Yes, it's true, we're a bunch of video game freaks. If we aren't raiding we're probably logged on doing something else or off playing another game. If you prefer to watch TV 8 hours a night, have fun with it pal.
Today 2.4 is released and casuals receive a steak dinner of Tier 6 for free or a few Badge of Justices. For us hardcores who push the game to the limits we get thrown a bone, no not a juicy steak bone, more like a fish bone that just poked through the side of your mouth while eatting some bluegill. After 9 months of nothing new we get three whole raid bosses, and then after an unknown amount of time they are going to open up a fourth, then a fifth and sixth. At that point we get to wait another 6-9 months before the expansion. Exciting huh?
At least between 2.4 and WOTLK we'll have the Season 4 patch which will further diminish any semblance of a difference between raiders and people who can manage to get their dick out of their pants to take a piss. Am I saying that raiding is hard-mode and nothing else in WoW compares? Not really, but it sure as fuck does require a lot more work to get done for people like myself trying to run a guild successfully.
Enough ranting for now. To my pals who are also pissed about Patch 2.4: Badge Loot for Terribads, don't get too upset. It will take McTerribles from now until WOTLK to even get a full set, if they even finish it off.
Yours truly,
Kaidman

Relinquary loots:
Crown of Empowered Fate,
Boneweave Girdle
Finally finishing this update... We killed he/she/it back on the 6th. Interesting fight and very different from phase to phase.
Recruitment: We are currently looking for 1-2 well geared resto shaman, Karazhan gear at minimum. Elemental shaman and feral druid may also be considered at this time if very well geared and meet/exceed requirements. Assent is only looking for players who are dedicated to raiding. If you cannot make raids 5-6 nights a week consistently then do not bother apping. We raid Saturday-Thursday with Friday night off. Raid start time is 4pm server. You must be able to make the start time and stay on til raid end. We normally raid 3-5 hours on raid nights, 10pm server at the latest. |

Gorefiend loots:
Soul Cleaver,
Shadowmoon Destroyer's Drape
Compliments to whoever thought killing off someone without anything that can be done other than stacking a raid with druids/locks to rez. I hope you drive off a bridge.
With love,
Kaidman

Archimonde loots:
Tempest of Chaos,
Leggings of Endless Rage,
Helm of the Forgotten Vanquisher,
Helm of the Forgotten Protector
Horrible encounter.
Where to start on the largest piece of shit boss of BC so far.. I described the fight to the guild on our first night as a 25-man Prince Malchezaar. This turned out to be true, but to a much worse degree. 10 retarded chimps vs 25 retarded chimps increases the odds of something stupid happening tremendously. Oh and if just ONE chimp decides to suicide then a wipe is imminent.
The Good Air Burst is a pretty damn cool ability and keeps you on your toes. It's not incredibly hard to live through. The player is in full control of their own life here, unless of course you got air burst to the mountain and land way sooner than expected.
No trash to clear. Not having to think about trash at all is a huge bonus. If we had to do trash every 2 hours between attempts I think someone may have spontaneously combusted irl. Release, run back, and engaging the fight again within 5 minutes was one of the few refreshing things on this fight. In some sick and twisted thought process this made it feel like the fight was less of a burden since we could engage again so quickly. When in reality it allowed us to rack up some super hefty repair bills in a short period. I bet we blew through 10,000 gold as a guild in 5 nights, well worth my Tempest of Chaos!
The Bad Doomfire is his other unique (kind of unique, aka buffed Supremus fire) ability. On one hand I like this ability and seems like a decent retarded chimp check. On the other hand the sheer randomness of it and the ability for it to overlap itself and make a circle of doom around you in under 1-2 seconds if you are unlucky is just ridiculous. At one point the other night I was running back to the raid after a burst and a doomfire comes directly towards me, ok no problem run to the right and avoid. So the doomfire curves right behind me, sww that was close. Oh wait there is a doomfire that just came across the fire from the left and encases me in a 5x10 area. As I'm standing directly in the middle of this ring of death apparently my screen does not match up with where Blizzard thinks the fire is and I am grilled orc. Anyways... I don't really mean to make doomfire sound so bad, I think this is definitely supposed to be a big factor to the fight. Those who thought Prince infernal random location drops were an issue, do not even attempt Archimonde lol.
The Ugly AE Fear. This has got to be a fucking joke.. Find another ability to make an event artificially tough. Make Archimonde air burst twice as much, increase the amount of doomfires, something other than an ability which gives you absolutely zero control over your character. Forcing an entire PVE raid to wear a PVP trinket just to try counteracting this is a load of shit. If you are fortunate enough to have the good trinket then you can be safe 1 in 3 fears. Luckily I chose orc and do not have WOTF so what this means is as soon as I use my trinket, the very next fear is guaranteed to aim me directly across 2 doomfires and wipe the raid unless a healer is not too far from me and was lucky enough to have a fear break via tremor etc. Which brings me to the point that stacking the raid with shaman greatly decreases the luck factor of the fight. So at the beginning of the night you pray all of your shaman are on. When you see 0 or 1 online you cry a little inside and prepare for some pissed away attempts.
I'm up in the air on Soul Charge. It's a decent idea, but turns out to be a spit in the face as your ship begins to sink. Sure you can live through it, but with all the other random damage people are taking most likely someone is going to be within death range. And then it snowballs to another soul charge, which then for sure wipes the raid. So yeah..
Enough rambling I suppose, I want to give a big thanks to the guild sticking with the fight through some very long nights of chain wipes without giving up. Luckily we aren't all raiding from the same room or there may have been some real life casualties. He should've died a few days ago on 14% and 11% attempts, guess I wouldn't be QQing so much, but I still wouldn't have thought we mastered the fight (and no where near it now either).
Fuck Archimonde.

Anetheron loots:
Pillar of Ferocity,
Bastion of Light
The first night in Hyjal the trash was quite fun. A little thought had to be put into getting the trash waves down with 23 people and felt a little rewarding once getting it down. Unfortunately that feel is lost after the first time in Hyjal. Killing 8 waves of trash then wiping to a minor screw up on a boss is a kick in the balls when you have to re-clear all waves. I agree with many others that some form of a checkpoint should be added after all waves have been cleared or after a certain wave is cleared.
Anetheron was a bit more exciting himself than Rage. A little thought had to be put into killing the boss than just stand around and pray healers can outheal icebolt. Still not a real tough fight though.
Let's hope the Horde base is a little funner. Kaz'rogal up next in Hyjal.
We are currently NOT accepting applications. We've fully attuned the entire roster to Hyjal and Black Temple. We plan to be living in these zones for the next few weeks which means new apps would have nothing at all to do but twiddle their thumbs. We'll update the applications forum when we are accepting new apps again.

Supremus loots:
Band of the Abyssal Lord,
Felstone Bulwark
Second boss of Black Temple dead. With some proper "don't be a retarded chimpanzee" pep talk we started to look like some professional raiders and not die to simple mechanics. Good job all, Shade of Akama on deck.

Naj'entus loots:
Ring of Calming Waves,
Guise of the Tidal Lurker
Black Temple penetrated. Got to love them trash dropping gems and epics. Naj'entus was a simple, yet intense encounter. Fun times acting like you don't see the huge fucking spike sticking up out of your buddy's dying body 5 yards away. Good job all, Supremus dies soon..

Kael loots:
The Nexus Key,
Band of the Ranger-General,
Chestguard of the Vanquished Defender,
Chestguard of the Vanquished Hero,
Verdant Sphere
Welcome back! A whole month since the last update, not because we are slackers (hmm.. ok maybe we have been a bit), but largely due to the Kael'thas event. I've been keeping most of our updates short because a lot of boss kills just don't feel epic. Well this fight is different, so let the spam begin.
Kael is a 5 phase encounter which lasts somewhere between 15-30 minutes. Each phase will put your team to the test. A single death early on will most likely result in a wipe due to lack of dps/heals/etc. Phase 1 starts the fight off slow and at your own pace, but as soon as phase 2 hits hold onto your seats. Everything is timed from then on out and the longer you take the chance of failure multiplies. The phases break the fight up nicely and give you a sense of accomplishment as you get better at each. Just as phase 1 starts out slow the conclusion of the fight, phase 5, is also somewhat relaxed compared to the mid-fight chaos.
First time to hit phase 5 we finished him off. It took us roughly 5-7 full nights (judging by dkp) to get the fight down. The guild has stepped it up a notch and ready to hit tier 6 action. Let's hope now that we are Mt Hyjal keyed and soon Black Temple that they remove the attunements so Johnny McTerribles can come collect loot on the 1-2 easy mode bosses also without ever actually needing to better themselves by defeating progression encounters.
We are still actively recruiting HIGHLY skilled players which are geared well enough to step in on high-end content. You MUST have high play time. This means during our raids Saturday-Thursday, 4pm server, for 4-5 hours and also play enough outside of raid to farm enough gold for repairs and consumables. We are not looking for any particular class, if we see good potential we'll see what we can do. |
